During the month I went searching for Queensland pub websites doing 'clever things' on the Net. I looked for websites that were innovative; websites we can learn from; websites we can emulate.

The Spotted Cow - Toowoomba

The Cow Creams 'em is a clever media hook generated about the Spotted Cow Hotel in Toowoomba. The Hotel is owned and operated by The Coorey family with Phillip Coorey in charge of the web site. Again ease of operational access to the various sections of the site impresses me. I was also impressed with the clever use of the @ symbol on the cover page. You are invited to scroll around the site under the headings of: Meet@; Eat@; Drink@; Win@; News@ and Contact@.

Under the Meet@ dropdown box I noted Friends@ and clicked on it. There I met the Head Chef - Nicole Croker. I found out Nicole has been working at the hotel for nine years+ and the favourite meal she likes to prepare is the Master Kobe Wagyu.

I noted from the site that the Spotted Cow was announced as QHA's best bottle shop in the state for 2008. Under the heading of 'Best Bottle Shop in Queensland' Phillip wrote "The official judge's verdict was that they were very impressed with our extensive range of beers, wines and spirits. They were also impressed by our service - which we pride ourselves on. From the minute Dan Murphy's and First Choice opened we have made a determined decision not to worry about them and only the people who walked in our door. It seems that strategy has been successful."
