Nicole produced a fantastic meal mixing classic French Provincial with modernist French. In typical Spotted Cow fashion the portions were more than generous, flavourful and well presented. Forget your molecular gastronomy; this is food with heart. The slow cooked Kobe beef literally melted in your mouth. Peter, the Sommelier, matched some wonderfully characterful and affordable French wines with the meal and showed, with his choice of a Cahors (SW France - Tannat based), why the Spotted Cow is becoming well known amongst wine lovers and respected within the industry. It is rare for a restaurant outside of Sydney or Melbourne to serve such a wine and the 'Cow has to be the only Hotel in Australia with the courage and conviction to do so.
